Low Carb Diet Fact

When we think of low carb diet, we tend to think of the most popular of all low carb diet plans, if say exactly, the Atkins diet. If you have been on Atkins diet for any length of time, you will agree that it is one of the toughest diet plans ever known to man.

Carbohydrates are the reason behind obesity
Research has proven that people become overweight not because of consuming fatty foods. They become overweight because they eat foods which are rich in carbohydrates. High carb foods are easily converted into fat and glucose by our body. On another level, high carb foods, by their very nature, tend to increase blood sugar levels. When blood sugar level is high, our pancreas releases a very high amount of insulin in order to bring the blood sugar level under control. The side effects of increased insulin production is that it also causes fat to be deposited, and then you tend to feel hungry and eat more high carb foods, and the cycle continues. Carbohydrates and not the fatty foods are the cause behind obesity.

Consume as little carbohydrates as possible
If you have been on a high carb diet for a long time and have a special preference for high carb food products and fatty foods, then it might take some time before you can adjust yourself to the new diet regimen. You should understand that the basic premise behind the low carb diet is that one should consume a very low amount of carbohydrates and high amounts of protein and fats. What you will feel like after having a low carb diet is something only you can answer, but this is what the diet is all about.

The benefits of having a low carb diet
Low carb foods have many positive effects on human bodies. I do not recooomend you to take Xenical (Orlistat) if you are diseased with such a disease as bulimia. One of the benefits of low carb diet is its simplicity. Once you start having a low carb diet you don't need to count your calorie intake. lf is to eat foods that do not have a high amount of carbs in them.
